Program Overview
The Ability Livelihood and Empowerment Program (ABLE) is a bold initiative by the Africa Skills Hub Foundation to promote the inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities, with a specific focus on youth and women.
ABLE aims to enhance the skills, employability, and entrepreneurial capabilities of persons with disabilities, enabling them to participate in society and achieve their fullest potential economically actively.
Objectives
- To train 1000+ persons with disabilities in readily available demand-driven vocational and technical skills within 4 months.
- To ensure that at least 80% of trained beneficiaries commence sustainable businesses within 6 months of completing the program.
- To provide start-up support and coaching to empower beneficiaries to establish and grow their businesses in their communities.
Target Beneficiaries
Persons with disabilities, with a specific focus on youth and women, are motivated to learn new skills, start their businesses, and contribute to the economic development of their communities.
Program Components

Skills training
Beneficiaries receive high-quality training in readily available demand-driven vocational and technical skills.

Start-up support and coaching
Beneficiaries will receive access to mentors, coaches, and financial resources to start and grow their businesses.

Collaboration with disability organizations
ABLE will collaborate with disability organizations to identify highly competent master trainers and to provide support to beneficiaries throughout the program.
